Having
been unable to stay at the crease for more than one ball on the
Saturday (a platinum duck!!) Nick Hill again proved to be a safe source
of runs on Sunday with an unbeaten 99*. With able assistance from
Harry (49),
John Staker (42*) and Paul Vaughan (26), Whitchurch posted a formidable
239 for 2 in their 35 overs.
After tea the spin triplets (it’s like spin twins but there’s three of them!!) – Mark, Matt and ‘Poppa’ Dom – kept the scoring under control and, in conjunction with taking regular wickets, ensured that Whitchurch eventually ran out comfortable winners by 80 runs.
